Editorial Ecosystem

A monograph or an individually authored book is, by its nature, a long and solitary undertaking. Research Advisors accompany the author through that journey. They are senior scholars and practitioners in the relevant Research Focus area who test the framing of the work, its evidence base and the soundness of its conclusions; and they do so without taking the work away from its author. The advisor's role is to strengthen the argument, not to rewrite it.

Each book is matched with one or more advisors from the sector it addresses. Their guidance runs from the concept note through the full manuscript, and their clearance is required before the work moves to editorial review and production.

Editorial books bring many voices into one volume. Their quality rests on the editor: the person who frames the central question, invites and selects contributors, and shapes separate chapters into a coherent whole. Bharat Assets Publications appoints a Volume Editor for each edited book, supported by Series Editors who hold the line on standards across a named series, and by in-house editors for volumes conceptualised within the Institute.

For corporate-authored books, the editors work alongside the partner organisation so that practice-based knowledge is presented with the same analytical discipline as independent scholarship.

The online series moves faster than books and journals, and it reaches the widest audience. The Editorial and Publication Board keeps that speed from coming at the cost of rigour. It sets the editorial policy for web publications, assigns each submission to the right section editor and reviewers, and takes the final decision on publication.
