The Research Programme of the Bharat Assets Protection Institute (B.A.P-I) is designed as a structured, multidisciplinary initiative focused on advancing knowledge, developing analytical frameworks, and generating actionable insights for the protection of critical infrastructure and the strengthening of national resilience. About the Research Programme

 

The Research Programme at B.A.P-I functions as the operational backbone of the institute’s intellectual and analytical activities, driving systematic inquiry into the vulnerabilities, interdependencies, and resilience capacities of India’s critical infrastructure ecosystem. It is structured around thematic research clusters that address key sectors including energy security, transportation and logistics networks, digital and cyber infrastructure, urban systems, environmental sustainability, and disaster risk management. Each research stream is designed to examine both sector-specific risks and cross-sectoral interdependencies, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of cascading effects within complex systems.

A central component of the programme is the development and continuous refinement of the Bharat National Resilience Index (BNRI), which serves as a quantitative and qualitative tool for assessing resilience across sectors and regions.
