GENERAL
INFORMATION
The Bharat Assets Protection Institute (B.A.P-I) is
an emerging multidisciplinary research and policy institute dedicated to
advancing India’s preparedness, protection, and resilience architecture. Initiated
with a noble vision in 2020, the Institute sets functions as a non-governmental,
non-profit, and knowledge-driven platform committed to strengthening national
systems through research, dialogue, and innovation.
B.A.P-I’s work draws upon a triadic focus on Critical
Infrastructure Protection, Strategic Manufacturing Sovereignty,
and Resilient Supply Chain Systems. These three
areas form the foundation of its research and policy engagement—bridging the
gap between academia, industry, governance, and civil society.
The Institute operates as both a think-tank
and collaborative platform, bringing together scholars,
practitioners, start-ups, and policy
experts to study risk, resilience, and strategic foresight in India’s
developmental context. Its ongoing efforts include developing frameworks,
concept papers, and advisory documents that connect national goals of
self-reliance (Atmanirbharta) with sustainable and secure growth.
At this stage, B.A.P-I is in the process of formalising
its institutional structure and establishing partnerships with academic bodies,
industrial associations, and policy institutions at both the national and
international level. The Institute aims to become a centre of applied research
excellence contributing to policy design, regulatory innovation, and resilience
measurement for India’s evolving critical sectors.
B.A.P-I’s research and outreach are guided by principles of integrity,
inclusivity, and innovation. Its mandate extends across:
• Generating applied research for governance and
industry
• Supporting public awareness on national
resilience and sustainability
• Building digital knowledge repositories and
capacity-building platforms
• Encouraging youth participation and
interdisciplinary collaboration
• Linking scientific research with ethical,
social, and environmental responsibility
