Bharat Assets Protection Institute (B.A.P-I)

The Research Council of the Bharat Assets Protection Institute (B.A.P-I) serves as the intellectual and strategic nucleus driving evidence-based policy, critical infrastructure protection research, and national resilience modelling in India. Anchored in a multidisciplinary and security-oriented framework, the Council integrates domain expertise across energy systems, cyber-physical infrastructure, logistics networks, environmental risk, and geopolitical strategy. It functions as a high-level advisory and research body that conceptualises, validates, and advances the Bharat National Resilience Index (BNRI) and associated analytical frameworks. By bridging academic rigor with operational relevance, the Council ensures that research outputs are actionable, policy-aligned, and capable of strengthening India’s resilience architecture in an increasingly complex and interdependent global environment.

About Research Council

The Research Council of B.A.P-I is constituted as a premier, multidisciplinary body tasked with shaping the institute’s research vision, doctrinal frameworks, and strategic outputs within the domain of critical infrastructure protection and national resilience. It operates at the intersection of policy, technology, and security, bringing together experts from government, academia, industry, defence, and international institutions to create a cohesive and forward-looking research ecosystem. The Council plays a central role in the development, refinement, and application of the Bharat National Resilience Index (BNRI), ensuring that its methodological foundations remain robust, adaptive, and aligned with both national priorities and global best practices.

Functionally, the Council undertakes advanced research across thematic stacks including cyber-physical systems, energy security, supply chain resilience, maritime and logistics infrastructure, disaster risk reduction, and emerging technological domains such as artificial intelligence and quantum systems. It is responsible for designing analytical models, conducting risk assessments, producing white papers, and advising on policy interventions that enhance infrastructure security and systemic resilience. In addition, the Council facilitates institutional collaborations, peer review mechanisms, and knowledge dissemination platforms, thereby strengthening the credibility and impact of B.A.P-I’s research outputs.

Through its integrated approach, the Research Council not only contributes to academic and policy discourse but also supports real-world implementation by aligning research with operational frameworks, regulatory structures, and national security imperatives. It embodies a commitment to building a resilient Bharat by transforming research into actionable intelligence, enabling informed decision-making, and fostering a secure, adaptive, and future-ready critical infrastructure ecosystem.
