How the institute recognises work, accredits against its standards, builds skills and supports research, for people and organisations in India and abroad. Each form below sets out what the institute offers in India now, what lies within its purview, where it is heading, and how partners outside India take part through its programmes and BHARAT-Global ARC.
B.A.P-I gives recognitions and endorsements to people and institutions whose work strengthens critical infrastructure and resilience, and records the recognitions it receives.
Recognition can cover research, practice, publications and service, and is backed by the institute's recognition register and its national awards.
The institute hopes to recognise outstanding contributions connected with partners outside India, and to be recognised in turn by institutions in that partnership.
People and institutions outside India are eligible for recognition on the same terms, and recognitions the institute receives from abroad are listed with their source.
Organisations can seek accreditation and certification against B.A.P-I standards for resilience, safety and the protection of critical assets.
The institute can assess, certify and list accredited organisations, and can extend its standards to new sectors as they are developed.
The institute seeks to have its standards used by organisations working with partners outside India, and to align them with recognised international practice.
Organisations outside India apply for accreditation against the same standards. Assessment arrangements are agreed case by case.
The institute runs certifications, capacity building and the seven-level Capstone certification for professionals.
Training can be arranged for an institution, a ministry, a company or a group of professionals, in person or online, on any of the six pillars.
The institute aims to offer programmes designed with partners in partners outside India for officials, engineers and managers responsible for critical assets.
Professionals outside India enrol in the same certifications and the Capstone programme. Group programmes for institutions abroad are arranged on request.
The institute supports research projects and funded studies through its project assistance programme.
Support can take the form of project guidance, shared data, publication and, where funds allow, grants for studies on resilience.
The institute looks to joint funding with partners connected with partners outside India for studies that serve both sides.
Researchers outside India can apply for project support, and institutions abroad can co-fund studies through the institute.
Institutions, professionals and organisations from India's partner countries, regional platforms, international organisations, maritime frameworks and strategic alliances take part through the same forms of engagement. Membership is through BHARAT-Global ARC; partnerships, recognition, training and services are arranged with the office of the institute. Each BHARAT-Global Strategic Partnerships page shows how these forms apply to that partnership.
