Strategic-Critical National Interests

The twelve Strategic-Critical National Interest Domains are the highest thematic framework of the Bharat Assets Protection Institute™. They stand for the nation's most basic strategic priorities, whose protection and resilience are essential for India's sovereignty, constitutional order, economic prosperity, technological leadership, institutional continuity and long-term development.

Institutional Doctrine

Safeguarding the Nation's Core: Safety → Security → Compliance → Protection → National Resilience

Every activity of the institute is meant to serve this chain. Each step builds on the one before it, and together they lead to a resilient nation.

  1. SafetyPreventing harm through resilient design, engineering excellence, operational integrity, occupational safety and reliable systems.
  2. SecuritySafeguarding people, infrastructure, institutions, technologies, industries, information and national assets against physical, cyber, technological, economic and hybrid threats.
  3. ComplianceEnsuring conformity with laws, regulations, standards, governance frameworks, ethical principles, quality systems and institutional accountability.
  4. ProtectionIntegrating engineering, technology, governance, operations, policy, legal frameworks and organisational measures to safeguard Strategic-Critical National Interests.
  5. National ResilienceStrengthening India's capability to anticipate, withstand, adapt to, recover from and continuously improve after disruptions, disasters, crises, emergencies or strategic challenges.

The twelve domains

The domains are not separate sectors. They are connected areas of national capability that together strengthen India's ability to anticipate, prevent, withstand, adapt to, recover from and keep improving against strategic, technological, economic, environmental, industrial, institutional and security challenges. Every research programme, project, publication, framework, assessment, partnership, certification and executive programme of the institute serves one or more of them.
