The Viswaguru Project · Performance and Recognition

B.API: Bharat Academic & Professional Performance Index

An automated system that gives every piece of work in the B.A.P-I ecosystem a quality Score and fixed Credits, and turns them into indices, Levels, Ranks, scorecards, certificates, awards and citations.

B.API stands beside the Bharat National Resilience Index (BNRI) and BHARAT-ARC in the Viswaguru Project. Where BNRI measures the resilience of institutions, B.API measures the contribution of people: publications, editorial and advisory roles, training, peer review, innovation, industry work and institutional service.

B.API is the name of this index only. The Institute remains the Bharat Assets Protection Institute™ (B.A.P-I).

Dharma · The rules of the index

The rules

01Score and CreditTwo numbers for every contribution

B.API Score

A variable mark from 0 to 100 for one contribution, given against a published rubric. It measures quality.

B.API Credit

A fixed value for each category of contribution, the same for everyone. It measures recognised work.

Eligibility gate

Credits are earned only when a record is verified and scores 40 or above.

Earned Points

EP = Credit × (Score / 100) × Share: quality and volume in one number.

02Core rulesTen rules that make the system fair
  • Every eligible contribution receives both a Score and fixed Credits, stored separately.
  • Credits change only by a formal, dated revision of the framework.
  • A record earns Credits only when verified and scored 40 or above.
  • Two independent assessors mark each record; a gap above 15 marks brings in a third.
  • Shared work is divided by authorship or role share, never exceeding 100 per cent.
  • Time-based roles earn Credits per completed year or term.
  • Each category has an annual cap, so volume alone cannot inflate an index.
  • Money never buys credits; donors are recognised separately as Patrons.
  • All rubrics, credits, caps and formulas are published; individual marks stay private.
  • Proven misconduct cancels the Credits of the record concerned.

BAutomation rulesWhat the system does by itself
  • New publications, books and completed editorial-board years are captured every day and sent for assessment.
  • Authors not yet registered are added as contributors automatically.
  • Records beyond a category’s annual cap are kept but earn no credits.
  • A wide gap between assessors automatically calls a moderator.
  • Crossing a Level threshold issues the Level certificate at once.
  • Contributor and Associate Ranks are conferred automatically; Fellow and above go to nomination.
  • On 31 March each year the previous year closes and annual scorecards are generated.
  • Every certificate carries a unique number that anyone can verify on this website.
  • Every action is written to an audit log.
